Tips for Making Cornflake Holiday Wreaths

  • stir the marshmallows constantly on low to medium heat with butter until completely melted
  • add the green food coloring one drop at a time after the marshmallows are melted
  • when shaping the wreath either use cooking spray oil on your index finger to make the hole in the center or dip your finger in water (this prevents it from sticking)use parchment paper instead of wax paper
  • if you added too many marshmallows and these stay sticky and don't set up right and harden the first time, add everything back to the pan and remelt the mixture with the cornflakes stirring constantly and adding more cornflakes proceed again ( I have done that several times!)
